Community Partners

Apply to be an Ark Valley High Roller Community Partner

Welcome to the 2017 Season! The 2017 Community Partner application process is closed at this time.  If you are interested in being a community partner in the future, read below how you can become involved.

When you are selected to become a community partner to receive a cash donation, in what way can the Ark Valley High Rollers contribute to your organization?  (e.g., Organizing a “This is How We Roll” painting work day for Habitat for Humanity).  Email us and let us know!

The Ark Valley High Rollers are devoted to giving back to the community that supports their passion for skating.  The league has donated both time and money to numerous charities and nonprofits over the last four years through donations from ticket sales, charity events, and work projects.

We would like to continue our creative partnerships with organizations throughout our community by soliciting applications for future seasons.  Below is information on the application process, what partners receive, and how partners can become involved with AVHR events.

AVHR Mission

Through the sport of roller derby, the mission of AVHR is to develop and amplify the athleticism, wisdom, courage and fortitude of its skaters.  AVHR aims to empower and inspire women by demonstrating physical and mental strength both on and off the track, and by providing positive athletic role models to our community.

Community Partners Receive:

  • $300 donation during a chosen bout, presented at Half-time as a ‘Big Check’
  • Logo on event poster
  • Organization mission statement and logo included in event program brochure
  • In-arena announcements at the bout
  • Featured on Community page on AVHR website (web link and logo)

What is required to participate?

  • Four organizational volunteers to help at a chosen bout
  • Sell 10 tickets
  • Exposure for AVHR through online, social media, print, etc.

Review Process

Once all the applications for the season have been selected:  If a cancellation or opening for community partnership occurs during the year, we will review applications after the deadline.

Applications will be reviewed by appropriate AVHR committee members and a decision will be provided two weeks before the scheduled bout.

Donation Process

Approved community partners will be assigned to an Ark Valley High Roller league member as their primary contact to receive the donation amount after the bout has occurred.  We may ask the award recipient to participate in a media event when receiving the donation (photo and ‘Big Check’ presentation).
